Diaper Donks Ruffle Bottom/Skirtie - Review

Inside of Diaper Donks diaper
I reviewed a ruffle bottom diaper for Jenny at Diaper Donks back in April as part of Baby K's 1st Birthday Celebration.  You can read the 1st review here :)  If you read that review then you know how much I love my 1st Donk :)  So you can only imagine how excited I was to receive a message from Jenny asking me to review another diaper for her!!!  Not only was I super excited to hear from one of the nicest WAHMs I have worked with but I was super excited to review one of her Skirties this time!!!

So you may now be asking yourself....What is a Skirtie?!?!?!  Let's just say it is AWESOME!  Well it is but really it is a skirt that attaches to a Diaper Donks diaper!!! So now you can really show off that adorable diaper for your little girl while wearing the matching/coordinating skirt with it :)  Jenny was wonderful and allowed me to choose any fabric that I wanted from her huge stash for cuteness!!  I choose the pink Cranky Clouds HTF print.  It is adorable and I thought would be cute for a skirtie/ruffle bottom.

My Thoughts

No fold over and cross snapped once
Ease:  Since this diaper is a Skirtie as well as a Ruffle Bottom diaper there are more pieces to the diaper.  You have the insert which makes the diaper like any other AI2 diaper.  You fold the insert the way you like it and then snap on the diaper.  To make the diaper into a Ruffle Bottom all you have to do is snap the ruffles on the back of the diaper with 3 snaps...super easy :)  As for the Skirtie there are definitely more parts and more adjusting.  If you have an itty bitty baby then the Skirtie is super easy for you :)  All you have do do is snap the Skirtie around the diaper and since baby is small and you are able to cross over the wings your Skirtie will overlap.  If baby is a little bigger and you can no longer cross over the snaps with the Skirtie overlapping then you need to use the extra panel.  The extra panel attaches to the snaps on the front of the diaper and that is where you then snap your wings at.  Since Baby K still uses the fold over rise snaps it can get a little confusing using the extra panel when folding the diaper up and her wanting to play with the panel :)  But once you know what you are doing it is just like any other diaper where it become second nature!!!

Ruffle Bottom!!!
When I use it:  Well the obvious answer is when I want to show off some super cuteness :)  I love to pull this diaper out with its adorable Skirtie around people who do not CD :)  I love both of the Diaper Donks that I have and love to show them off.  I cannot wait until it gets warm out again to be able to pair this adorable Skirtie with a white tang top for outings and then just bring a couple extra inserts with me :)  Right now since it is cold out we usually wear it around the house or pair it with Baby Legs :)

Price:  A Skirtie/Ruffle Bottom diaper runs $35.  An a regular AI2 from Diaper Donks runs around $25-$30.  All of Jenny's diapers are very reasonably price, especially for the wonderful product you receive.  Diaper Donks are extremely well made and very high quality.

Recommend:  I honestly don't even know if I need to fill out this section :)  If you haven't figured it out by now I would definitely recommend Diaper Donks!!!  If you have not been Donked yet then you just don't know what you are missing and I kind of feel sorry for you :)  But that just means that you will have to enter the giveaway (ends 11/26/12) or make sure to stock her at her Hyena Cart store to get your chance to be Donked!!!

Doesn't Baby K look cute :)  extra panel used!

Overall:  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Diaper Donks diapers!!!  They made exceptionally well and made with love.  And who doesn't love a WAHM diaper!!!  Jenny is probably the sweetest, most caring, and thoughtful WAHM that I have worked with so far.  Any time I have corresponded with her (and it has only been through FB messages or email) you can tell that she truly cares.  Not just about how you like her product but you and your little one.  She is the full and wonderful experience that working with WAHMs entails and I would tell everyone to check her out and show her some love!!!  You can find Jenny and Diaper Donks on Facebook where you will get the latest stocking information and so much more!!!

  3. These are the cutest diapers! I'd never heard of them before. I've never been into the whole Hyena cart/stalking thing and I've been cloth diapering off and on for 9 years! But for these, I just might start.
