Snappi Diaper Fastener - Review

If you have read any of my earlier post you know that pre-folds SCARE me :)  And no this is not a review of pre-folds but a review on how pre-folds can be a lot less scary when you have the right accessories.  Yes something so simple and so old school NEEDS the right accessories.  So if you haven't realized by now the accessory that MADE me try pre-folds is the Snappi Diaper Fastener!!!

I have to say I like my pre-folds more than I thought I would.  The Snappi makes it so the diaper stays in place.  One of my worries for pre-folds was that they were going to move and then they would leak, especially with how much Baby K moves around.  But I can put the pre-fold on her with the Snappi and if she tries to get up the diaper is still where it should be!  Then I can put the cover over top and I don't have to worry about shifting or bunching or anything else.

If you are going to try pre-folds with your little one then you NEED the Snappi Diaper Fastener.  It is the one accessory that is a total must have!!!  It comes in 6 adorable colors :) White, Mint, Pink, Pastel Blue, Dark Blue and Purple.

A Little Info From the Manufacturer

The Snappi® Diaper Fastener has revolutionized cloth diapering! This PINLESS diaper fastener offers a practical and reliable way to fasten a cloth diaper and has become one of the most important cloth diapering accessories in the world.  Over 60 million have sold worldwide.
An EASY to use fastener that offers a PRACTICAL and RELIABLE way to fasten a cloth diaper, replacing the diaper pin. It comes in a variety of colors and is made from a stretchable non-toxic material, which is T-shaped with 'teeth' on each end. These 'teeth' hook into the diaper fabric to ensure a snug-fitting diaper with enough natural movement for the baby.

Snappi® s have become the cloth diapering necessity that "pulls it all together" !

The Snappi® fastener underwent a ‘makeover’ in 2006. The basic shape and function remains the same, the only change being that the rings at the end of each leg have been replaced with a solid piece embossed with the Snappi® logo and a crescent-shaped loop at the end of each leg, which gives the Snappi® this EXTRA SAFETY FEATURE.
When the Snappi® fastener is not in use, fold the loop over the back of the Snappi® end to fit over the teeth of the white grip - see photo above. This acts as a barrier and prevents the sharp teeth from being exposed. These loops are NOT to be pulled on when attaching the Snappi® fastener to the diapers.  When attaching the Snappi®, hold onto the solid part of the tab.

WARNING: Keep all Snappi® fasteners out of children’s reach when not in use.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is going to use pre-folds or flats.  At under $4 it is a MUST!  I would say to pre-fold full time I would have 2-3 to use.  All you have to do is wash them with soap and water and they are good to go :)

All opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.  The snappi was provided by the Snappi Baby company for review.  No additional compensation was accepted for this review.

  1. I agree--snappis make prefolds less scary! I wouldn't use prefolds without snappis. I just wish they had more color colors like zebra or leopard prints!

  2. Wow! This is such a neat little tool! I never even knew they existed! Thanks for such an awesome review.

  3. I am going to use prefolds with my newborn this summer and would really love some small sized snappis.

  4. I really want to try a snappi, I've been using prefolds for months now w/o one... I wonder if I would even get the hang of it or if I'd forget about it since I'm so used to not having one...?

  5. we started out prefolds ft with pins and dh refused to change diapers! he was so scared of sticking a pin in our dd! so we quickly got some snappis so I wasn't the only one changing diapers!

  6. I did not know that the logo part was meant to cover the teeth when not in use. Great idea!

  7. I would love to try this snappi!! I love that it has an extra safety feature!

  8. I loved my snappis, I actually need to go out and get a bigger size, but they worked great and I thought I was going to break them a couple times but didnt they are very durable.
