BabyTork Embellishments Swim Diaper - Preview Review

With summer knocking on the door everyone is probably thinking about water activities.  But you might be thinking that you CD so why would you want to use a disposable swim diaper!!!  It doesn't make sense to subject baby to wearing paper while in the water when they are in cloth the rest of the time!  So a reusable swim diaper it is!!!!  There are a ton of different types and brands out there.  So what do you chose?  Last year I bought a Speedo reusable swim diaper because Baby K was too little for the disposable ones and it fit HORRIBLY!!!!  So the wonderful Mama behind BabyTork Embellishments, Stephanie, sent me a new product she now carries!!!  A WAHM reusable swim diaper!!!

This "preview" review is only my opinion on looks and feel, NOT on how it fits and functions!!!  I post a separate review on fit and function, etc. after I have been able to use the swim diaper on Baby K this summer.

About the Swimm Diaper from Stephanie

Disposables are the thing of the past. Why not use an eco-friendly, reusable swimm diaper at the pool, beach, or lake this spring and summer.  Your child can swim in style while keeping those messes contained.

Sizes include:
X-Small 7-14 lbs
Small 12-22lbs
Medium 18-28 lbs
Large 24-40 lbs
X-Large 35+

Swimm Diaper has an outer layer of pul and an inner layer of athletic material.

My Thoughts

The outside of the diaper looks awesome and I received an adorable print :)  It looks like it will fit Baby K with a little room to grow.  Which will be great in fitting ALL summer long.  The only thing that worries me is that the inside of the diaper is made of the same material that is in guys swim trunks.  It has holes in it.  I am worried that if Baby K poops in it that it might get stuck in the holes.  I cannot confirm this at this time since she has NOT worn it yet.  Just an observation of mind from looking at the diaper.  More info will be coming in the FULL review around mid to late June.  Keep an eye out for it :) but in the mean time check out BabyTork Embellishments on Facebook, Etsy and HyenaCart.

Baby Babu OS Pocket Diaper - Review

Outside of Baby Babu Diaper
The awesome Baby Babu company sent Baby K and I an awesome purple diaper for review!!1  The Baby Babu diaper is a OS pocket diaper.  It has envelope openings make stuffing a lot easier.  There is also a snap on the diaper and on the inserts that keeps everything in place while stuffing and while putting the diaper on baby.  If you have read any of my other post (at all) you know that I am a pocket girl at heart :)  I will use other types and I like other types but a GOOD pocket diaper is always the 1st one I pull!!!  The Baby Babu diaper is among my 1st pulled!!  I LOVE the color and I love the envelope opening.  I do wish that the opening in the front was a little bigger.  I don't have huge hands and I find it a little tough the push the insert through.  I have to pull it from the other side.  Which is not a huge deal but different than what my brain wants to do :)  Baby Babu has a pretty large line of products to pick from.  On their website you can find OS pocket diapers, OS diaper covers, extra inserts, wet bags, and even BIODEGRADABLE DISPOSABLE DIAPERS!!!  They have you cover for just about everything :)  Also check them out on Facebook to keep up with all the latest information.

Inside of Diaper

A Little About the Diaper (from the Manufacturer)

Baby Babu pocket cloth diapers have tons of features to make cloth diapering a breeze for you and your baby!

Our one-size pocket cloth diapers all come with the following features:

-TWO openings to stuff the inner pocket of the cloth diaper.  Why two openings you may wonder?  Two openings allow for the insert to simply self agitate out in the washing machine, preventing mommy or daddy from having to reach in and pull out a yucky, soiled insert.  With Baby Babu pocket cloth diapers, just dispose of any #2 in the toilet, toss in the washing machine and that’s it! We’ve eliminated the need for any additional dirty work.

Smallest rise setting
-Our adjustable snap button system, you now have a cloth diaper for life!  The button system allows for sizing from 8-35+ pounds, so you’ll never have to search for new diapers to fit your growing cutie.

-Each diaper wing has 3 button snaps to ensure a secure, but comfortable fit (most competitors have only 2 snaps on their diapers).  But wait, there’s more!  We’ve incorporated an extra gusset inside of the outer leg gusset to help prevent leakage for those little guys and girls that have a tendency towards the dreaded blow-outs or flood style pee pee incidents (moms and dads love this).

2nd Rise Setting
-Finally, each pocket cloth diaper comes with one 3 layer super absorbable insert and super soft, moisture wicking liner.

My Thoughts

Ease:  I love pocket diapers for how easy they are.  Other than some AIOs a pocket diaper is the easiest diaper out there.  All you have to do is stuff the pocket, snap the rise (if it is unsnapped, I leave mine snapped when washing), and snap it on baby.  The hardest part is stuffing the diaper, which isn't that hard to being with :)
Largest Rise Setting
Price:  The Baby Babu OS diaper is only $11.99!!  That is super cheap for a OS diaper.  I don't know many diapers that are that cheap and such great quality.  I have heard that shipping is expensive.  But when you hit $50 shipping is free.  And I bet if you keep your eye out they will eventually offer specials for free shipping (just MY thought!!!)
Baby K in Action
When and Why I use it:  Well I use it because I have to review it right!??!  NO!!!  I use it because I LOVE pocket diapers and because I LOVE the fit on Baby K and the color is adorable :)  I usually have this diaper in my diaper bag because it is so easy to use when out and about.  I can snap in the insert before we leave the house and I know it is still going to be in place when I pull it out of the diaper bag use!!!
Baby Babu Diaper on Baby K
Recommend:  If you don't know me by now then you are crazy :)  No just kidding.  But I don't put things on my blog that I do not use myself and would not recommend to my best friend.  For the price and the diaper you are getting I think you need at least 1 if not more of these diapers :)
Overall:  Overall I would give the Baby Babu OS Pocket Diaper a B.  I love the diaper but I really wish the front opening was a little bigger for easier stuffing.  Also I received 2 inserts (which I have only needed to use 1) and I wish that they snapped together for when you do need both.  All that said it is still one of my go to diapers for the diaper bag and when I want a cute purple diaper under a skirt :)
All opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.  The diaper was provided by Baby Babu for review.  No additional compensation was accepted for this review

Baby Babu Diapers is also giving away 1 diaper a month for the next 12 months on MY blog!!!  That means there will be 12 MORE diapers given away right here!!!  Thank you Baby Babu :)

Wool Shorties Giveaway from Fluff and Stuff Boutique

Are you ready for you chance to win a pair of Wool Shorties from Fluff and Stuff Boutique?  One of the AWESOME owners of Fluff and Stuff Boutique is offering 1 lucky winner a pair of Shorties in their choice of color!!!  Thank you so much Katie and Fluff and Stuff Boutique for the wonderful giveaway!!!

A Little About the Prize!!!

Wool soakers can be used over fitted diapers or over prefolds. Crochet covers are soft and stretchy, they are comfortable on the baby's legs. Soakers are a night time favorite by many cloth diapering parents. Wool soakers work great for children who wet heavily at night. Soakers are not just for night time! These items make great shorts, pants, and outfits for playing around the house in or for when you are out and about.

Wool is absorbent, but absorbs very slowly. Because of the body heat of your baby, and the warmth of the wool, it also allows wet to evaporate, and this happens at the same rate as it absorbs. So is it like water that's evaporating and the "impurities" (urea, uric acid etc) stay behind in the diaper - like when you boil salt water and the salt stays behind. Wool and lanolin are both self cleaning and anti-bacterial, and that's why wool covers don't need washing unless they actually get grubby or soiled. They just need hanging up to air, and allow the lanolin in them to do its' work.

Fluff and Stuff Boutique - Spotlight

One day last week I logged into Facebook and went to my Blog's page.  I was super surprised to see a message there since people usually email.  But I did have a message from a great WAHM asking if I would like to run a giveaway.  I thought to myself...duh of course I would :)  I asked her for a link to her Facebook store, Fluff and Stuff Boutique and checked it out.  I got even more excited when I found out that she was just starting up and that it was a family business also.  I LOVE helping out WAHMs and especially start up businesses to help get their name out.  I was also thrilled that Katie had come and chosen me to do this for her!!!  Thank you so much Katie for giving me this WONDERFUL opportunity and I hope to bring a TON of fans to your awesome store!!!

A Couple Questions for Katie

Who all is involved in Fluff and Stuff Boutique

Fluff and Stuff Boutique is a family run shop. I, Katie, run it along with my mom, Dawn. My little sisters, Danielle and Taylor, help out a lot, so does my second dad, Kevin. Fluff and Stuff is a shop run across the country. I am in Wyoming (my husband is stationed here in the military) and Dawn, Kevin, Danielle, and Taylor are in Michigan.

Do any of you Cloth Diaper you children and if so how many

I cloth diaper my 15 month old daughter, Peanut. My mom and dad don't have any children in diapers and my sisters are in middle and high school.

Why did you start Fluff and Stuff Boutique

Fluff and Stuff Boutique was started because my mom and I have always made things for Peanut, we just wanted to let other parents be able to purchase our items for their children also. I wanted parents to be able to purchase wool products for their children at a reasonable price and my mom felt that way about her cloth diapering items.

Do each of you have a specialty or do you all have a hand in making everything

My mom and I each make different things for Fluff and Stuff Boutique. my mom, Dawn, makes the sewing items we feature (diapers, wet bags, sandwich bags) and I make the crochet things (woolies, bags, tablet cases). My dad and sisters help my mom out because they all live together. If we all lived in the same state items would have more of a group effort in making them. The producing system we have really works for us though.

What is your favorite item to make

My favorite item to make changes time to time. Lately I have really enjoyed making woolies for customers. I love it when a customer is so happy with their work they send me in action pictures. That's probably my favorite part of the process, knowing a parent was pleased with an item and they are getting good use out of it.

Where did the name Fluff and Stuff Boutique come from

We thought long about what we were going to name our shop. Everyone had ideas, but we didn't want to limit it to baby items only. We knew we wanted to be able to provide a wide range of items to our customers. A lot of the time people call cloth diapers fluff, and stuff just kind of fell into the title. So we stuck with it and got business up and running.

What are your dreams for Fluff and Stuff Boutique in the future

I have big dreams, I always have. I really would like to see Fluff and Stuff Boutique giving back to the community in the near future. Soon we are going to be running buy one, give one specials. When you buy something an item is given to a family in need, this is a big goal for us to get to.  (I LOVE THIS!!! ~ AMY) I would love to see Fluff and Stuff Boutique items in shops across the country, and on lots of babies bottoms. I would also like to see our shop expand to carry more items
